The name

Dubhlán

DUV-lawn

dubh — dark.  lán — full.

The same root as Dubh Linn, “black pool”, which gave Dublin its name. In Scottish Gaelic, dùbhlan means challenge.

The O'Dubhláin were a sept of the Uí Maine kingdom in Connacht, recorded from the twelfth century. Anglicised to Dolan under English record-keeping. It's the founder's family name.

We chose it because it describes the problem.

The dark is the condition. You deployed the agents. They're working. You cannot see what they're doing, and you cannot prove what they did. That's the black pool.

The challenge is the invitation. Not let us handle it for you. Rise to it — with instruments good enough to see by.

Principles

Three rules we don't break.

  • Visibility before automation.

    If you can't see it, you can't trust it. Every system we build shows its work before it's allowed to do more of it.

  • Guardrails before scale.

    Production state changes go through a human. Not as a setting — as architecture. You cannot turn off a wall by forgetting to configure it.

  • Proof before credit.

    No work is done until there's a commit to point at. Not a status update. Not a summary. A commit.
